In a living room in Aburoso, the first very first bundle was packed. There was our founder, surrounded by his families and neighbours – the first PAAF volunteers. Coming together, they supported a local family going through difficult financial period.
Volunteers remain at the heart of PAAF, whether it’s working with families directly, sorting donations, making deliveries or supporting over the phone.
In return we offer a very warm welcome and a hands-on way to make a positive difference; we couldn’t help all the families we do, without people like you.
If you want to volunteer with a team of colleagues, please see our Corporate Volunteering page.
Volunteer’s activity depend on where you’re based or what role you do, but there’s always something to keep you going. We often ask volunteers to sign-up, though we’re a relatively small charity; and we value the help from our volunteers greatly.
Working at our hub, these regular volunteers help to sort incoming donations, prepare gift bundles and welcome families.
Talking to families over the telephone to understand their situations, ensuring they’re accessing all the support available to them. These roles are more in-depth so require training and security-check before you start.
On the road, these volunteers will help deliver our gifts directly to families in their homes or help to distribute stock. Security-check is required for this role.
